have an experienced and passionate team, who strive to guide and shape our young people to build their support networks, achieve their goals and ultimately, support the transition to independent adulthood.

We have worked in partnership with Local Authorities, wider support services and with the young people we support to improve their skills, abilities and life experiences, gaining the knowledge required to live independently.

We provide high quality, safe accommodation for young people aged between 16 and 25, who are both male and female. We understand that a young person’s first steps into independence might be daunting, this could be influenced by past traumatic experiences. Therefore, we actively encourage young people to personalise their own space within their home, to help create a sense of belonging and stability.

Gloucester Family Care formed in 2020, and as an organisation we have worked with a significant number of young people. In our experience we have found that the majority of care experienced young people are in need of guidance and quality support from people that care. This enables them to have the confidence to seek new experiences and achieve independence knowing they have a consistent and structured support network to rely on.

We have high expectations of our committed and skilled staff team. All staff and managers are engaged in on-going learning about their role and the young people they work with. Our team foster positive relationships with young people, to deliver creative, purposeful and flexible programmes to develop the social and practical tools young people need to reach their potential.

We promote positive opportunities for young people to engage with the local community, promoting inclusion, participation and emotional resilience. We ensure that we meet the cultural and religious needs of each individual.

The aspirations of our young people will inform our supported living packages. These packages are planned with young people and their appropriate Local Authority to identify support needs to a successful transition to independence, with the ultimate goal of empowering young people to be fully independent.
